中国出版集团是经中共中央、国务院批准,于2002年4月成立的国家级出版机构。2004年3月国务院批准转制为中国出版集团。
中国出版集团由人民文学出版社、商务印书馆、中华书局、中国大百科全书出版社、中国美术出版总社、人民音乐出版社、生活?读书?新知三联书店、中国对外翻译出版公司、东方出版中心、现代教育出版社、新华书店总店、中国出版对外贸易总公司、中国图书进出口总公司等13家单位组成。其中的后3家单位,与国家邮政局所属的2家分公司,组成新华发行集团总公司,由中国出版集团控股。
集团是以出版物生产、销售和进出口为主业的,经营多元化的大型企业集团。拥有出版社(包括现代出版社、商务印书馆国际有限公司等下属社和副牌社)25家,每年出版图书、音像、电子出版物8000种;出版期刊44种,报纸3种;每年进出口各类出版物20多万种。现有员工7600人,其中在职员工5300人。
集团的宗旨和战略目标,是以马列主义、毛泽东思想、邓小平理论和“三个代表”重要思想为指导,为人民服务、为社会主义服务,宣传党的路线、方针、政策,完成党和政府交给的重大出版任务,实现国有资产的保值增值,努力成为主业突出、多媒体兼营、实力雄厚、效益一流的出版物生产发行基地,成为社会主义精神文明建设的重要阵地,成为对外文化交流的重要窗口,成为出版品种全、规模大、精品多、品牌响、队伍强、效益好的,充满活力和竞争力的大型文化企业。
China Publishing Group
The China Publishing Group is a national publishing
institution, established in April 2002 with the approval of the Central
Committee of the Chinese Communist Party and the State Council. In March 2004,
the State Council approved its transformation into the China Publishing Group
Corporation.
The China Publishing Group Corporation is made up of 13
organizations, namely the People’s Literature Publishing House, the Commercial
Press, the Zhonghua Book Company, the Encyclopedia of China Publishing House,
the China Fine Arts Publishing House, the People’s Music Publishing House, the
Music Publishing House, the SDX Joint Publishing Company, the China Translation
and Publishing Corporation, the Orient Publishing Center, the Modern Education
Press, the Xinhua Bookstors Head Office, the China National Publishing Industry
Trading Corporation and the China National Publication Import and
Export(Group)Corporation. The last three institutions, together with 2
corporations owned by the State Post Office, form the Xinhua National
Distribution Group Corporation, the stock of which is held by the Group.
The Group’s operations are on a large-scale and diverse,
with main business being the production, sales and import and export of
publications. It encompasses 25 publishing houses(including subsidiaries and
imprints such as the Commercial Press Intl.Co.Ltd, the Modern Press )and
publishes 8000 different books, audio-visual and electronic publications,
44preiodicals, 3newspapwrs and imports and exports 200,000 different
publications. It has a staff of 7600, of which 5300 are full-time employees.
Guided by Marxism-Leninism, Mao Zedong Thought, Deng
Xiaoping Theory and the important “Three Representatives” theory, the aim and
strategic objectives of the group are to serve the people and socialism,
publicize the guiding principles and policies of the Communist Party of China,
fulfill the important publishing tasks assigned by the Party and government and
maintain and increase the value of state-owned assets. It intends to become a
publication and distribution base with a strong main business, multimedia side
business, tremendous strength and first class benefit, an important part of
building a socialist civilization, a window for foreign cultural exchange and a
large cultural enterprise with all kinds of publications, a large scale,
numerous excellent publications, famous brands, capable employees, healthy
profit, vitality and competitiveness.
